Wondering about whether you should sell fashion on Coupang? ‘Wonder no more’, is the advice of Hiyeon Kim, a seller has found success selling jewellery kits on Coupang.
After experiencing a lull in her 9-6 office job, Kim decided it was time for something new. She began taking jewellery making classes and found that making gorgeous pieces was simple, so she started to sell bead kits on Coupang. Kim’s business quickly gained traction on Coupang and later raked in over 20 million KRW worth of monthly sales.
While Kim found that many bead accessories were being sold on Coupang, there were few people selling DIY kits. She also made sure to place importance on the quality of the beads and accessory parts so that customers could make long lasting accessories to cherish.
The beauty of being a Coupang seller is the exposure to a broad array of customers. Initially, Kim had expected her clientele to mainly be women in their 20s but she found demand across a larger age group and each section had different needs and habits. For instance, some shoppers liked to purchase the beads to incorporate them into their cross stitching while others used them to add a flourish to their apparel. This diversity has since driven Sharondell to expand its product range.
Although Kim had started out using several marketplaces, Coupang took her sales to over 10 million KRW within three months and produced the best results.
Would Kim recommend Coupang? Absolutely, she says. It is through trial and error that Kim has been able to take her business and it seems like Sharondell’s future is shining brightly.
