Coupang has a wide variety of items and selecting the right product category is an important part of ensuring your Coupang customers can easily find your item.

What is Product Category?

It is a way to group items so that our Coupang customers can find them more easily. It is an important component of how the Coupang search engine function finds products. Conversely, if you select the wrong category when listing your item, customers will be unable to find your product.

How can I Select the Right Category?

It’s simple! Search for your item (or a similar item) on Coupang and when you click on the product listing, you will be able to see the category at the top. It’s important be careful when choosing your category as you cannot change this later.

Please note that if your product is identified by Coupang to be in the wrong category, it may be placed in the correct category. In this case, the sales commission rate will be based on the correct category where it appears on Coupang’s service.
